National Cedar Componentry, has a history of innovative
timber solutions and the Biomass Briquette is another great example.
Using Western Red Cedar taken from environmentally sustainable forests
in Canada, National Cedar collects the shavings generated during
it’s manufacturing processes to produce this exciting product. With no additives the biomass briquette is formed by heating
the natural adhesive resin “ lignor” found in all timbers,
then compressing the shavings to produce a product that is natural,
uncontaminated and perfect for open fires, wood stoves and BBQ’s.
These unique briquettes are produced on site after the untreated
shavings are fed into a hopper and press combination that compresses
the saw dust by applying a hydraulic pressure at a rate of 10
to 1 force. The resulting product is produced in a continuous
75mm diameter piece that is broken into approximately 125mm pieces
for easy handling. Common in Europe and Africa this natural energy
is a cost effective and unique alternative fuel. |
