At National Cedar Componentry we use only Western Red Cedar sourced from certified and sustainable forests in Canada. Measured on a standing wood volume basis British Columbia has about 750 million cubic metres of Western Red Cedar. More than half of that is found in the coastal region where it is the second most common conifer.
Close to 50 million cubic metres of the cedar growing in the coastal region is in parks and other protected areas. A significant amount is also included in the coastal “working” forest much of which has received, or is in the process of receiving, certification. "Second-growth" Western Red Cedar is gradually coming on stream and is harvested for the high value wood it produces.
At National Cedar Componentry the manufacture and use of engineered products through the reuse of off cuts is in line with a commitment to the environment. We also recycle our sawdust into Biomass Briquettes which places NCC at the forefront of environmentally conscious timber companies.
